This is a wonderful message to my favorite JLAB junkie, Heidi Miller.

The Mac Observer - Ihnatko - I Love AppleScript Studio: "Boy, the more I work with AppleScript Studio, the more I love the thing.

I don't use any commercial apps to maintain and manage my weblog. When I started YellowText in 1995, the word 'blog' didn't even exist. A simple script to automatically upload an HTML file to my webserver became a more complicated script to automate the whole process, and eventually a simple AppleScript Studio app that took text from BBEdit, did a little dance with it, and then told Interarchy to post it. That's CWOBber (Colossal Waste of Bandwidth weblogger.). The goal for CWOBber2 was immediately obvious: make it a completely self-contained app with no need for external text editors or FTP apps at all. Make it slicker and easier to use. Maybe add a little, what do call it? Oh, yeah: 'error reporting.' That's the baby.

Here's the new home of our class website: Vergil's Coffee. When you get there, be sure to bookmark the site as you will want to return to the site during the year. Good-bye Blogger, Hello iBlog!

I'm getting ready to leave for vacation (we're doing the family trip to Tampa. FL in the trusty White Mini-van) and I wanted to remind you of your reading/writing responsibilities:
Reading:
Middlemarch (George Eliot)
Crime and Punishment (Dostoevsky)
Note: Please avoid study guides at this point; you should get used to reading novels on your own. Both novels are longer texts and should be a challenge for you.
Writing:
Purchase a Composition Book (200 sheets...cost is about $.60). Skip the first full 3 pages and fill the rest with writing.
I will post more information about the class (schedule of readings, papers and so forth) as we get closer to August 21. Until then, I hope you are enjoying your summer.
Mr. Judson

Welcome to Vergil's Coffee!
I'm posting the draft of next year's syllabus here for you to peek at. I should have the tweaking done during the first part of summer, but the draft represents the range of texts and engagements for the year.
Good luck on the finals and enjoy the summer!
Mr. Judson

Hey Folk!
Thanks for your participation to the blog. Next week, I'll be removing your access to post to it so the next class can come in and blog. To keep tabs with one another, you may want to post over to the "Message Board" or someone else's blog.
Peace and thanks for the coffee!
Vergil

Hope we all did well on our A.P. exam. Is anyone for having ice cream first hour someday because I am? :)
